Banyani is a legally registered non-profit dedicated to advancing climate action, sustainability, youth leadership, environmental stewardship, community resilience, and inclusive development across Africa. Founded on the belief that sustainable development is only achieved when communities and young people are empowered to lead change, Banyani works at the intersection of climate education, resilience building, environmental restoration, women's empowerment, sustainable livelihoods, policy engagement, and youth leadership development.
Over the past four years, Banyani has grown from a volunteer-driven initiative into an emerging pan-African climate organization — with a dedicated full-time volunteer team, country representatives in three African nations, and flagship programs reaching participants across the continent. Despite operating with limited financial resources, the organization has consistently transformed modest means into meaningful impact through volunteerism, partnerships, grants, and personal contributions from its leadership. Banyani now seeks partnerships and investment to scale proven programs, strengthen resilience, and empower women and youth across Africa.
Africa contributes the least to global greenhouse-gas emissions yet remains one of the regions most vulnerable to climate change. Banyani exists to bridge these gaps through education, leadership development, resilience-building, innovation, and community-centered climate action.
